Club rule out selling ‘unbelievable’ 26-year-old in January as Spurs eye move – but stance could change

Barcelona are currently ruling out the idea of selling Raphinha, but there is a chance that their stance on the Tottenham Hotspur target could change by the time the January transfer window arrives.

That is according to a report from , which notes that the Brazilian has struggled to recapture the form that he showed last season.

Raphinha has had a mixed time at Camp Nou. He is perhaps not the superstar Barca fans had grown accustomed to over the last couple of decades. However, he has been a very good signing for the Catalan giants, and he has come up with some big performances.

Of course, the 26-year-old is well-known to Premier League fans. And it seems that Tottenham are admirers of Raphinha. In fact, has suggested that they have dropped their interest in Ivan Toney in favour of the former Leeds man.

Raphinha would be an amazing signing for Tottenham, with wingers so important to Ange Postecoglou’s style of play. He was ‘‘ during his time in the Premier League.

Unfortunately for Tottenham, it appears that Barcelona do not currently expect the former Rennes star to leave. reports that Barca are ruling out the idea of Raphinha leaving.

However, the report adds that Barcelona could change their stance to ease any financial pressures on the club. So Tottenham may have to bide their time if they want to sign Raphinha.

Spurs need to be ready if Xavi’s stance changes

Raphinha would certainly be a game-changing signing for Spurs. He had 29 goal involvements in 65 Premier League games during his time at Leeds.

Reports from actually claimed that some at Leeds thought that Raphinha did not want to join Tottenham previously because Antonio Conte may try and deploy him as a wing-back.

That may no longer be an issue under Postecoglou. But you would imagine that he would have no interest in leaving Barcelona unless they make it clear he can go.

If that proves to be the case, Tottenham have to be prepared to make their move.
