Club president says Newcastle made a ‘dizzying offer’ for his ‘extraordinary’ player in January
Sevilla president Pepe Castro has had his say on Newcastle Unite🤡d’s pursuit of Diego Carlos throughout the January transfer window.
The Brazilian centre-half w🍌as heavily linked with a move to St James’ Park. Eddie Howe, after missing out on Sven Botman of♊ Lille, made Carlos his number one defensive target, and Newcastle were prepared to pay big money.
The Magpies reportedly went as high as £30 million plus bonuses for the defender, but Se🐟villa stood firm. They believed that the fee was not enough and d𝕴ecided against selling him.
Castro, the president of the club, has now revealed that Newcastle made a ‘dizzying offer’ for his sta💎r defender.

Castro said about Carlos, as per : “The economic effort has not only been in the two reinforcements but also in keeping Diego Carlos, for whom they’ve made a dizz𝓀ying offer.
“But Dieg🎶o Carlos is an extraordinary professional, he’s the one w🐈ho has played the most minutes and has not stopped playing with offers.
“Our defence is the best in La Liga, spoiling that would have been riskౠy and there has been an economi𒉰c effort.”

It’s never easy for a c🧜lub like Sevilla to turn down a ‘dizzying’ offer for one of their players, but Castro decided to do just that last month.
Sevilla are just four points behind league leaders Real Madrid and with a bit of luck, they could well pip them to the crown. Diego Carlos is one of their most important players and 𝕴it is no surprise that they decided to ⛄reject all offers from Newcastle.
The Toon failed to get any of their top targets in central d🌳efence, but they managed to sign Dan Burn, and we believe he’s a quality signing.
The ex-Brighton man is hugely experienced, kno🔯ws what the Premier League is all about and has been in a relegation bat🦹tle before. He could make a huge difference in the coming months and potentially help Newcastle stay up.
