Club now fuming with how 28-year-old Aston Villa player has performed this season
FC Barcelona are reportedly fuming with how Clement Lenglet has performed for Aston Villa this season out on loan.
The 28-year-old centre-back signed for the Villa Park side in the summer for the year having spent the previous campaign out on loan with Tottenham.
Yet despite Villa’s incredible success under Unai Emery this season, Lenglet has played a bit-part role, with the defender making just three Premier League appearances.
And now, , Lenglet’s parent club, Barcelona, are fuming with how things have turned out for the Frenchman in Birmingham this season.
As per the report, the Catalan giants were hopeful of cashing in on Lenglet to Villa having failed to do just that with Tottenham last year for the defender.
Indeed, with Villa unlikely to sign Lenglet as well come the end of the season, Barcelona have every right to be left fuming with how the defender has performed this campaign.
Barcelona will have no clue what to do with Clement Lenglet this summer
Lenglet just can’t catch a break, with Barcelona wanting nothing to do with the former Sevilla man as the defender is now currently struggling to get a minute of football with Villa.
And heading into the summer, Xavi Hernandez’s side will feel stumped on what to do with the French centre-back, with no clue seemingly willing to sign Lenglet.
Although there is time for a miracle to happen at Villa, all signs firmly point towards Lenglet returning to Catalonia at the end of this season.
And for Barcelona, they will need to make some hard decisions in the summer over Lenglet, who can’t seem to win at anything.
