Club lowers price tag of right-winger by £26m as Arsenal ‘actively looking’ for such a profile

Arsenal were previously linked with Raphinha and, with the January transfer window on the horizon, the Gunners are apparently looking to bolstering their attacking ranks.

According to , Arsenal are ‘actively looking for a right-winger’. Gunners star Bukayo Saka could certainly do with someone to help lessen his workload.

The transfer outlet also provided an update on Raphinha which would bode well for Arsenal if they opt to rekindle their interest in him.

Apparently, Barcelona have set an asking price of €70million (around £61million) for the Brazil international.

This is a drop of around £26million from the price tag they reportedly had in place at the start of the year, namely €100million (£87million).

At the time, this valuation apparently put Arsenal off moving for the 26-year-old. However, the Gunners apparently continued to keep tabs on him.

Ahead of the summer transfer window, reported that Mikel Arteta was still a huge admirer of Raphinha.

As per FT, Barca remain keen on cashing in on the player and would actually prefer to strike a deal in January, though they feel a summer move is likelier.

However, what could complicate the matter is that Raphinha has no desire to leave at this moment in time, added the report.

This could be a great opportunity for Arsenal to finally bring in a player who can compete with Saka and deputise for him.

The 22-year-old is an amazing player, but there have been constant questions over his workload, which have increased in recent weeks following instances where he has picked up knocks on the pitch.

Raphinha is an ‘‘ player who’s at the level Arsenal require if they are to challenge for the title and cups. In addition, his Premier League experience would be absolutely crucial.
