Club are now expecting Chelsea to bid for their £60m player soon
It’s not a January transfer window without a bit of late drama involving Chelsea.
Two years ago, Chelsea pinched Mykhaylo Mudryk🎶 from under Arsenal’s noses late in the transfer window, before breaking the British transfer record to sign Enzo Fernandez.
Meanwhile, Chelsea🌟 also broke the British transfer record for Fernando Torres on a January deadline day back in 2011.
ꦏChelsea often define the January window, and, by the sounds of things, there could be more late January drama at Stamford Bridge this month.
Chelsea have been linked with Alejandro Garnacho🅷 this month, and according to Fabrizio Romano, a bid is now imminent.
Indeed, Romano says that Manchester United are now expecting Chelsea to bid for Garnacho.

ꦅThe journalist says that United are expecting Chelsea to bid for Garnacho and that a swap deal has even been touted.
🤡“Something to say on Man United and on Chelsea because Manchester United are perfectly aware of the situation of Alejandro Garnacho. They expect Chelsea to submit an official bid any moment, we will see when it’s going to be but direct contacts between Man United and Chelsea already took place,” Romano said.
🦹“Man United and Chelsea considered to discuss a swap deal for Alejandro Garnacho, maybe another player to go the other way, one of the names mentioned by intermediaries proposing this opportunity was Christopher Nkunku, because Nkunku remains a possibility for Bayern, no issues on personal terms.
ꦓ“Nkunku was one of the names discussed between intermediaries as a possibility to do the Garnacho deal now the situation is different, so the full focus is on Garnacho. I’m not aware of any concrete progress on Nkunku at this stage, but what we can say is that for Garnacho, Chelsea are expected to bid, but it’s not going to be an easy one because Man United inist on €70m (£60m) valuation for Alejandro Garnacho.”

ꦕGarnacho’s record alongside Jadon Sancho is far from ideal, while his record alongside Enzo Fernandez is stellar.
🎐If Chelsea do sign Garnacho, it would be interesting to see how Chelsea line-up as they’re already inundated with left wing options, and, clearly, Garnacho and Sancho don’t perform all that well together.
🎐It remains to be seen whether or not this deal gets done, but this is certainly a situation to keep an eye on towards the end of the transfer window.
