‘Clear of Maddison’: Some Arsenal fans can’t believe ‘unreal’ stat from 22-year-old last night

Martin Odegaard had a performance to remember for Norway last night as the Arsenal playmaker stole the show.

The 22-year-old midfielder made an astonishing 13 key passes for the Scandanavian nation in their against Gibraltar. Erling Haaland bagged a hat-trick as Odegaard pulled the strings.

Despite the scoreline and the opposition, Odegaard ended the game with zero goals and zero assists for Norway. Indeed, this can be pinned down to poor finishing from the likes of Haaland and Alexander Sorloth.

Despite no assists, there’s no question that Odegaard was the key man for Norway on the night. The result, as well as the Netherlands thrashing Turkey, saw the northern European side climb up to second in Group G.

It was a much-needed result for Norway and the perfect display from Odegaard ahead of his return to Arsenal later this week. The Gunners face off against Norwich City, and anything but a win could spell disaster.
