༺Some Manchester City supporters have been reacting on social media to reports by claiming their side are interested in a deal for Espanyol prospect Mateo Fernandez.

🤪The Citizens are said to be leading the race for the 17-year-old striker as club chiefs target up-and-coming talents who they can develop in-house, before seeing forge a senior career at the Etihad Stadium.

ꦉFernandez is his first-team breakthrough at Espanyol but has enjoyed success in their Juvenil A squad this season, where his efforts have proven appealing for a number of scouts ().

✃Manchester City are now lining up a move for the speedy hotshot, having been impressed by his technical ability and physicality, while having the added benefit of dual citizenship.

♚Fernandez was born in Spain but is eligible to represent England through his family and may now be presented with a move to the UK this summer.

🌠But some Citizens supporters fear how his arrival could impact the progress of Liam Delap, with the 18-year-old so far awarded only despite netting games while offering six assists for the club’s Under 23s this season.
