‘Class’, ‘didn’t put a foot wrong’: Some Arsenal fans give credit to one player despite Friday defeat
A number of Arsenal fans have been praising Rob Holding for putting in a decent display in Friday night’s 1-0 Premier League loss at the Emirates Stadium.
Mikel Arteta’s charges were disappointing as Everton ran out 1-0 winners in north London, with few players emerging from the game with any credit.
Along with Pablo Mari, Holding – Arsenal’s captain for the night – put in a solid enough display.

The 25-year-old also produced an excellent block to thwart Gylfi Sigurdsson at the start of the second half.
Once again, Holding showed that he works better alongside Mari, who was calm in possession he drove the Gunners forward on multiple occasions.
There was little to shout about overall during a very frustrating encounter, but some fans gave credit to the £25,000-a-week centre-back for his display.

A block that got no credit from the Sky commentators either.

Everton got the win on Friday night thanks to a Bernd Leno error in the 76th minute of a game that was preceded by fan protests against Arsenal’s owners outside the Emirates.
The Gunners were also awarded a penalty in the second half when Dani Ceballos went to ground after a challenge from Richarlison.
However, the decision was overturned after a VAR check ruled that Nicolas Pepe was offside in the build-up.
