Clarence Seedorf and Daniel Agger send messages to Liverpool star on Instagram
Virgil van Dijk has uploaded an inspirational message on Instagram after holding aloft the Premier League trophy with Liverpool in the club’s last game at Anfield this season – and both Clarence Seedorf and Daniel Agger reacted.
Van Dijk has been a colossus all season for Liverpool and while he, like the rest of the Liverpool side, may have slightly taken their foot off the gas – the Dutchman will go down in Reds history as one of the club’s best defenders.
Celebrations were aplenty on Wednesday night as the Reds secured a stunning 5-3 win over Chelsea thanks to goals from Naby Keita, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Gini Wijnaldum, Roberto Firmino and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
Van Dijk posted on Instagram after the celebrations had died down, with a message that told supporters that dreams can come true and if you work hard – you can achieve anything in life.
Already the Netherlands captain, van Dijk is showing leadership and captained the side against Chelsea. He is expected to wear the armband when Liverpool play their final game of the season against Newcastle on Sunday.
Dutch legend Seedorf heaped praise on van Dijk for his message, while former Reds defender Agger also responded with a two-word verdict – “fully deserved”.
