Christian Eriksen and Max Aarons react as Tottenham star confirms new deal
Oliver Skipp has confirmed that he has agreed a new deal at Tottenham Hotspur which will keep him at Spurs until the summer of 2024 – and both Christian Eriksen and reported Spurs target Max Aarons have responded.
Skipp, 19, has impressed in glimpses under Jose Mourinho – and now has 21 senior appearances under his name since his debut, given to him by Mauricio Pochettino. He has been rewarded for his efforts, agreeing a four-year deal.
The England Under-21 international has plenty of competition ahead of him, with Mourinho using a three-man midfield of Harry Winks, Gio Lo Celso and Moussa Sissoko in his last three games.
Skipp posted on Instagram after it was confirmed he had agreed a new contract with his boyhood club – underlining his delight to sign for Spurs and made it clear that he is now looking to push on and see what the future holds.
Speaking in his press conference ahead of Sunday’s clash between Tottenham and Leicester at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Mourinho stated that Skipp is keen to go on loan after he penned a new deal.
“In his mind he wants to go on loan, six months, the whole season. He feels that he needs that, I also feel that would be good for his evolution, so maybe that is the direction we go,” Mourinho said,
Christian Eriksen – who left Spurs in January to join Inter – congratulated Skipp on Instagram, as did Norwich City right-back Max Aarons, who is a summer target for Tottenham at a fee of £30million
