Christian Benteke absolutely must step up following injury to Wilfried Zaha
Crystal Palace striker Christian Benteke might be in the last chance saloon.
The big Belgian has been struggling for a while now with the Eagles, and appears to be devoid of all confidence after the goals dried up.
Last term he only managed to score three times in the Premier League, and he has started the current campaign in a similar fashion, failing to net in four appearances so far.
Roy Hodgson has been admirably loyal to the 27-year-old since he pitched up this time last year.
Critics have bashed the striker, and fans have expressed their frustrations, but Hodgson’s faith has never wavered.
But perhaps now is the time for the ex-England manager to seriously consider what’s best for the team.

Benteke looks shadow of the player that first arrive in England with Aston Villa in 2012.

Hodgson has been very persistent; it’s time for Benteke to reward his faith and show everybody he isn’t finished in English football.

Benteke needs to find form and quickly, or else he could lose his place to Alexander Sørloth.
The Norwegian has been biding his time on the bench at Selhurst Park.
Surely he’ll given more starts by Hodgson if there is no upturn in form for Benteke.
The £9 million signing from Midtjylland probably feels he’s due a proper chance after making just eight league appearances since arriving in January 2018.
