Chris Waddle says Newcastle have a 20-year-old who’s a ‘very good player’
Newcastle United legend Chris Waddle praised Magpies defender Tino Livramento during the club’s victory over Arsenal at St James’ Park.
Waddle, speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live, described the 20-year-old Newcastle full-back as a “very good player”.
Livramento came on in the second half of the Magpies encounter with the Gunners – which Eddie Howe’s side won 1-0 – after Dan Burn had to come off.
Not long after coming on, Livramento got the crowd cheering with a good challenge on Gabriel Martinelli inside the box.
‘I like Livramento’
He did a good job of keeping the Arsenal forward at bay and his efforts helped Newcastle end the Gunners’ unbeaten league run.

“I like Livramento, very good player, very good going forward as well,” Waddle said, as per the website.
“Winning that first one on one duel with Martinelli will give him confidence going into the rest of the half.
“Managed to kick the ball out off the Arsenal forward to win the goal kick too.”
Newcastle got the win thanks to a 64th-minute goal by Anthony Gordon, which VAR ratified.
The 22-year-old scrambled the ball in after Joe Willock’s cross was headed down by Joelinton.
Newcastle have found their feet after a tricky start to the season and will now fancy their chances of breaking into the top four in the coming weeks.
They have a solid team and, in Livramento, they have an exciting player with bags of potential.
To think he’s just 20 years of age, who knows how good he’ll be by the time he’s in his mid to late twenties.
