Chris Sutton shares what no-one in football is saying about West Ham boss Moyes

Chris Sutton has reacted to suggestions David Moyes is under pressure at West Ham United following their 2-2 draw with Sheffield United on Sunday.

There is absolutely no question that David Moyes has done an unbelievable job. Of course, he will forever be remembered as the boss who led the Hammers to European glory last season.

The Scot has silenced a lot of his doubters across his two spells at the London Stadium. And West Ham now sit sixth in the Premier League.

Chris Sutton baffled by David Moyes criticism

Nevertheless, some of the fans are clearly ready for the next chapter. There was some clear discontent amongst the supporters in the away end at Bramall Lane on Sunday as West Ham drew 2-2 with the Blades.

ran an article which included a subheading noting that the pressure was mounting on Moyes. But speaking on , Chris Sutton insisted that the West Ham boss has done more than enough to ensure that his position is under no threat.

“I don’t know anybody in the world of football who thinks that David Moyes hasn’t done an excellent job at West Ham and who thinks at this moment in time, that David Moyes is under pressure for his job. I don’t understand that headline in truth. I think it’s deeply, deeply unfair on David Moyes. And really unnecessary,” he said.

West Ham fans more than entitled to have questions

Moyes has done brilliantly. But it is also reasonable for West Ham fans to have criticism of their manager.

This season had the potential to take the team to another level. And some of their signings have been absolutely superb.

But they have not won any of their last four games. And they went out of the FA Cup with barely a whimper. So the fans are entitled to be disappointed.

There are few things more frustrating than pundits constantly hitting out at fans’ complaints and telling them that they are wrong about their own club.

There is no debate that Moyes has done so well. But some supporters are starting to wonder if someone else could now do better in the role.
