Chris Sutton says two Liverpool players made Man United’s Casemiro look ‘horrendous’

Liverpool secured their best win of the season yet with a 3-0 victory against English rivals Manchester United.

A brace from Luis Diaz and a fine finish from Mohamed Salah secured the three points for the Reds as Arne Slot continues his perfect start to life as Liverpool manager, with the Anfield side yet to concede a goal.

With the first international break of the season already upon us, a small window of reflection has been called to assess how the likes of Liverpool have managed in the first three games of the new Premier League campaign.

And Chris Sutton believes two Liverpool players caused havoc against United’s star midfielder Casemiro.

Luis Diaz and Mohamed Salah praised after ‘devastating’ performance

Speaking on , the pundit noted how impressed Diaz and Salah were against United, with Sutton highlighting how Casemiro simply couldn’t handle the Liverpool attackers at Old Trafford.

The Brazilian international was hooked off at half-time, with Casemiro struggling massively to handle Liverpool’s press and the speed at which the likes of Diaz and Salah were attacking United’s defence.

And for Sutton, the pundit was quick to note how poor Casemiro was against Liverpool, with Diaz and Salah giving the former Real Madrid superstar another game to forget for the Manchester giants.

Sutton said on Casemiro’s performance: “In terms of the way he gave the ball away, nobody really expected that. That was horrendous and then they are exposed. Liverpool are one of the best at doing that because of the athleticism, which they have, Salah and Diaz, absolutely devastating.”

Liverpool showed again how far ahead they are of United

It might have been Liverpool’s first win at Old Trafford in three years, yet the Reds’ result against United was again a key indicator that the Merseyside giants are lightyears ahead of the Red Devils.

Slot has inherited Jurgen Klopp’s side from last season and taken them in a direction that many didn’t expect yet with brilliant results, with Liverpool looking outstanding under the Dutch coach.

And for United, the loss on Sunday once highlighted just how far they’ve fallen, with Erik Ten Hag still having plenty to do if he’s to turn things around at Old Trafford.
