Chris Sutton says there’s another position Mohamed Salah could definitely play for Liverpool

Mohamed Salah has undoubtedly been one of the best players in the world this year.

Indeed, Salah has been in Ballon d’Or winning form this term, and his performances have earned him a bloc𓃲kbuster new contract.

However, there’s ꦛa suggestion that Salah may have to change his game next year.

Jeremie Frimpong is set to sign for Liverpool, and with Fri✅mpong being such an attack-minded player down the right side, there’s a theory that Salah should move centrall𓄧y next term.

Speaking on It’s All Kicking Off, Chris Sutton has been discussing the idea of Salah playing through the middle, and he reck🐲ons the Egyptian could play this role, although♐, he’s not sure he’d be most effective there.

Chris Sutton says Mohamed Salah can play up front

Sutton spoke with his co-host 🙈about the 🎉idea of Salah playing as a striker.

According to the pundit, there’s no doubt about the fact Salah could play up front, but he reckons he’s w😼ay more effective down the wing.

“Why can’t Mohamed Salah play down the middle?” Sutton was ask🤡ed.

“All I would say, I’m not saying he can’t play down the middle. Mo Salah can play down the middle, there’s no doubt about that, but do you think that Jurgen Klopp and Arne Slot haven’t thought about that? If Salah was more effective down the middl♈e they’d play him down there, these guys, you’re questioning their decision-making saying Mo Salah should play down the middle,” Sutton said.

Mohamed Salah’s record as a striker

S🐓alah is, of course, more comfortable on the right wing. After all, he’s about to win his fourth Golden Boot in that position.

However, Salah has played up front on occasion during his career, and when he has been utilised as a central💝 striker he’s been excellent, as the stats show.

Darwin Nunez is set to leave Liverpool this ཧsummer, and while Liverpool are expected to sign a new centre-forward, perhaps they could have a bit of a re-jig and move Salah into a more central position.

Of course, as the old sayin𒀰g goes, if it isn’t broke, don’t fix it, but there is an inter🧜esting school of thought behind the idea of Salah moving up front.
