Chris Sutton has ridiculed new Rangers signing Sheyi Ojo on Twitter after the Liverpool loanee claimed Steven Gerrard’s side are better than Old Firm rivals Celtic.
Ojo, 22, has sparkled for Rangers in his opening three appearances for the Gers, helping Rangers fans forget about the loss of Ryan Kent. He has already netted two goals, the last coming in a 2-0 win over Progres Niederkorn.
So far, he has proven to be one of Gerrard’s signings of the summer, and he claimed that the new-look Rangers side under Gerrard are more than capable of beating Celtic – because they are simply better than the Hoops.
“I think Rangers are the best team in the league. It’s just about proving that we’re the best team and doing really well this season,” , to the bemusement of Celtic fans.
But Celtic icon Sutton took reminded Ojo and Rangers fans that the Hoops have won the last eight consecutive league titles in a row. Since Rangers returned to the top, Celtic have won all nine domestic trophies available.
Yes of course and they’ve proved it over the last 8 years…

TBR’s view – Ojo and Rangers must let football do the talking
Steven Gerrard opted against saying that his side had moved a step closer to their Old Firm rivals, and that the 2019-20 campaign would be the closest it has been for quite some time.
Ojo, though, has heaped the pressure on Rangers to remain level par with Celtic, by making such a claim. Over the last few years, many have claimed they are close to the Hoops – only for it to backfire. Pedro Caixinha being one.
The Liverpool loanee must wait until the football begins and the first Old Firm derby takes place, in order to show just how far Rangers have moved on.
