Chris Sutton predicts who’s going to win the Premier League this season
Ahead of the new Premier League season, Liverpool fans may now be slightly pessimistic about challenging Arsenal and Manchester City to the title.
Arne Slot’s new era has started superbly on the pitch, but Richard Hughes and his team have now failed to deliver the signing of Martin Zubimendi – who looked key to any aspirations.
That’s not to say that Liverpool can’t challenge Arsenal and Man City without Zubimendi, but they would need to recruit a number six, otherwise Slot’s start would appear slightly hamstrung.
Of course, Mikel Arteta and Pep Guardiola haven’t spent big at Arsenal and City respectively either.
Riccardo Calafiori should be an excellent signing for the Gunners, but their spending doesn’t compare to last summer when they added Declan Rice and others.
Similarly, Man City have committed to a relatively small spend so far as well, only adding Savinho from City-Group owned Troyes.
All that being said, Chris Sutton has now provided his tip for the Premier League title via .
Chris Sutton says there’s no evidence that Arsenal can beat Man City to the title
Sharing his prediction, Sutton thought the Premier League table would have a familiar look this time around, placing Man City in first, Arsenal in second place and Liverpool in third.
The pundit then expanded on his choice, focusing on why he didn’t believe that Arsenal were quite ready to overcome City, in what could be Guardiola’s last season in England.

Sutton said: “I’ve not seen anything to suggest it will be third time lucky for Arsenal in the title race.
“They got a lot of praise for the way they went to the Etihad Stadium in March and put on a really good rearguard action against Manchester City, but you look at how the table ended up and think they might have to go back to being braver against them next time.
“I still think they will come second though.”
Although City are the obvious choice, Harry Redknapp explained why he tipped Arsenal to win it all this season, anticipating another close race between the two teams.
As stated, Liverpool are certainly not out of the conversation either, Jurgen Klopp left behind a squad that is more than capable of challenging Arsenal and Manchester City.
And it’ll certainly be interesting to see how the trio begin this weekend.
