Chris Sutton predicts who is winning between Tottenham and Arsenal and fires strong warning
With the first international break of the season out of the way, Premier League action resumes this weekend with Arsenal’s trip to the Tottenham Hotspur stadium the standout fixture.
Ange Postecoglou is yet to secure a win in this fixture but Spurs could look to capitalize this time around with Arsenal missing a couple of important players.
Declan Rice is suspended and the likes of Mikel Merino and Martin Odegaard and out injured, so the Gunners are a bit short of options in midfield.
Ahead of the game at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday, believes Spurs will deepen Arsenal’s misery with a win.
Chris Sutton feels Tottenham will beat Arsenal

With a crunch Premier League clash against Manchester City on the horizon, Arsenal can’t afford to drop points here as they look to return to winning ways after their 1-1 draw against Brighton & Hove Albion.
Sutton predicts both teams to score, with Tottenham winning by the odd goal in five in front of their own fans.
“The Gunners will get chances in this game and I expect them to score,” Sutton wrote in his column for .
“They won this fixture 3-2 last season and drew 2-2 at the Emirates, and I am expecting more of the same. This time, however, I am going to back Spurs.
“I know everyone who is reading this will probably go for a draw but I am not going to do that. Instead, I am going to stick my long neck out and say ‘Angeball’ will come out on top.”
The former England striker feels a defeat for Arsenal could effectively end their Premier League title hopes so early in the season as Manchester City could race to a five-point lead with three points against Brentford.
He continued: “Spurs have dominated games and created chances this season, but they just need someone to stick the ball in the back of the net.
“I have a feeling that will happen for them here. If I am right, then we may as well hand the title to Manchester City.”
Pundits largely seem to back Tottenham
Aaron Lennon has backed Tottenham to beat Arsenal, while Paul Merson feels the North London derby will end in a draw.
Arsenal won the corresponding fixture 3-2 last season and played out a 2-2 draw at home, indicating that they’ve had an upper hand against Tottenham in recent meetings.
However, injuries to key players like Rice and Odegaard could prove to be damaging for Mikel Arteta as he looks to find an innovative solution for the third midfield spot.
Jorginho and Thomas Partey are shoo-ins to start and there are whispers that Ethan Nwaneri could be handed his full debut against Tottenham.
Whether or not Arteta hands a rare opportunity to the 17-year-old to make an impact, however, remains to be seen.
