show that Rangers goalkeeper Allan McGregor will feel he should have done better with Slavia Prague’s first goal – as Peter Olayinka headed home at the near post.
Rangers crashed out of the Europa League on Thursday night despite boasting a slight advantage going into the second leg, having drawn the first leg 1-1. A tumultuous night for many reasons saw Rangers eventually lose 2-0 in the second clash.
The Gers received two red cards during the night – one for Kemar Roofe after a horror challenge and Leon Balogun, who received two yellow cards. Glen Kamara was also racially abused by a Slavia Prague player, confirmed by Steven Gerrard after the match.
But ultimately, Rangers were knocked out by the better side and McGregor failed to stop Olayinka’s header flying in at the near post. Sutton has criticised the Gers veteran, stating that he should be doing better in that given situation.
“McGregor will be disappointed,” Sutton said. “For a goalkeeper of his quality – made a brilliant save in the first leg. Maybe he reacts a bit late there. Good pace on the cross, good header, but a keeper of his standard would have expected to keep that out.”

TBR’s view – McGregor has been fantastic all season
Recalling his best moments, McGregor made a quite-brilliant stop against Celtic earlier this season – stopping a curling effort from Leigh Griffiths in what could have been a season-defining moment. His save last week against Slavia is up there.
So, the 39-year-old can surely be afforded the odd mistake – especially with the title already secured and a place in the last 16 of the Europa League a decent achievement for Steven Gerrard’s men. Sutton is right, though – he should have kept it out.
