Chris Sutton and Theo Walcott react to Aston Villa signing Marcus Rashford from Man United

Aston Villa have been one of the most active teams in the transfer window and they’ve sprung into life late in the day to strengthen their ranks.

The Villans have moved to land both Marco Asensio and Marcus Rashford, while a late deal for Chelsea’s Axel Disasi should have en𝕴ough time to get done as well.

For Unai Emery, thiജs month was very much about adding depth and quality and after the £70m plus sale of Jhon Duran, he’s been afforded the chance to bring new players in.

Of course, the headline news is their signing of Man United outcast Rashford. The England striker has a serious point to prove and reacting to ✤the ne🐓ws, both Chris Sutton and Theo Walcott have now had their say.

Marcus Rashford considered a ‘risk’ signing for Aston Villa

Speaking on ahead of Chelsea v West Ham tonight, both Walcott and Sutton had their𝔍 say on Rashford’s signing and both believe there are elements of risk.

“We will find outဣ, won’t we? I think Marcus Rashford has a lot to prove and I wouldn’t n♉ormally say that about a player like him,” Sutton said.

“It is a risk from Aston Villa. Un🌸ai Emery feels he can get Marcus fully focused again and if that happens, there is no doubting the ability he has.

“It is a trial period. There is the option to move permanently in th🔥e summer. Marcus Rashford is on trial.”

A🦩dding further comment, Walcott admitt𓆏ed Rashford might find it hard to even get in the team.

“It is a tough team because Aston Villa have a lot 🐭of good players as well.𝔉 Unai Emery is a manager who is not shy of dropping players.

“It is about provin♛g himse൲lf really, but not just to Villa but to everyone. And to himself as well.”

What Paul Merson thinks could happen to Marcus Rashford

As Sutton and Walcott say here, there is a big chance for Rashford to go to Vilꦐla and show U✱nited what they’re missing.

In fact, the deal has so much riding on it that Paul Merson believes Rashford succꦅeeding at Villa could actually cost Ruben Amori🔴m his job.

“What he has done with the Rashford situation is mind-blowing. I think hi♊s job is on the line with this now. I really do. If Rashford goes to Villa and gets 10 in 10 and Man United continue playing the way they are playing, if you are on the board you would seriously be asking questions of what are you doing,” Merson said.

Merson added: “It makes sense [for Rashford to join Aston Villa on loan]. He has an unbelievable opportunity. He is going to one of the top teams in the Premier League. Great team, great club. The one thing we🦩 are all missing here is that he has to take his head with him.ꦺ It’s a huge gamble.”

W✃ith half a season left, Rashford could well fire Villa into the top four while United continue to struggle in the bottom half.
