Chelsea: Zouma discusses comeback; Brazilian to return; Tottenham block move

Kurt Zouma is increasingly nearing a return to first team action after nearly nine months out with a knee ligament injury, and has spoken to back Antonio Conte and show his agreement with his decision to have patience with his recovery, :

“I am very pleased to play another 90 minutes. I need to play, keep going and to work because I was out for a long time. I am very happy to play (for the Under-23s), I need game-time. I am used to being with the first team, but I am so lucky because I can play with the Under-23s and with a very good team… I want to prove to the owner that he picked well when he chose Antonio Conte for the next three years. For me, that counts more than titles. It’s not going to be easy (to finish top). There are six sides in the hunt for the title, one of them will win, three will go into the Champions League and the other two in the Europa League. This Premier League season is probably the hardest ever.”

Another player could be set for a return of a different kind as Brazilian forward Kenedy looks set to come back to Stamford Bridge from a loan spell at Watford earlier than expected, say .

The left sided player has been involved in just 15 minutes of action in a single appearance having failed to impress Walter Mazzarri and is now set to return to west London in January, despite having initially agreed a season long loan, with both clubs keen to cut the deal short.

With Gareth Southgate’s appointment as permanent manager of England set to be announced in the coming days, Chelsea coach Steve Holland is expected to remain part of his coaching set-up with the senior team as with the under 21s. However, Tottenham have expressed concerns to the FA which may prevent Holland from being able to perform both roles simultaneously.

Spurs are believed to fear that Holland may use his time with Tottenham players whilst with England to garner information on fitness and weaknesses to feed back to bosses, say the , meaning Holland may have to choose between club and country.
