Chelsea: West Ham want defender; Hazard discusses form; Milan clubs chase midfielder
It is expected that Serbian defender Branislav Ivanovic will leave the club when his contract expires at the end of the season, particularly given that he is yet to play since Antonio Conte implemented his preferred system, but the report that West Ham will make a bid of a minimal fee to try to tempt Chelsea to part with him as the 32-year-old remains desperate to stay in London with his family and children settled in the capital.
There is also interest from Inter Milan and a number of Chinese clubs, but Crystal Palace have already put an end to their interest and the player would prefer to move to West Ham, with Slaven Bilic hoping that Antonio Conte will see no need to keep hold of him for the rest of the season.
Eden Hazard, praised for what many have described as a world class display against Everton in a 5-0 win at the weekend, has spoken to the press about the performance of him and his teammates and their current form. Hazard is enjoying the best goalscoring streak of his career and he clearly puts that down to the new system and his team, :
“It was an unbelievable win. We scored five beautiful goals and could have scored more. I am enjoying my football, we are playing well, we are creating a lot of chances and scoring a lot of goals.”
When quizzed on whether or not he believes that the Blues can be title contenders this season, the Belgian said:
“It’s not bad. We are in a good place. We want to stay there until the end. We will fight until the end to be there.”
The change in formation has also allowed a number of players the opportunity to work their way back into the Chelsea side, such as Victor Moses, but one remains on the outskirts – John Obi Mikel. Now, the Nigerian is being linked with both Milan clubs as AC and Inter both battle to tempt him to join their side of the San Siro, claim the .
The club’s second longest serving player won a bronze medal at the Rio 2016 Olympics this summer and is yet to figure in any of Antonio Conte’s squads, with an exit likely when his contract expires in the summer if not before, with Marseille also ready to fight for his services alongside the two Milan clubs.
