Chelsea round-up: Forward going nowhere; Barcelona plan bids for trio; defender hints at move
The say that Chelsea forward Eden Hazard is prepared to rebuff any interest from Spanish giants Real Madrid as he is happy in west London. The last few days have seen fresh speculation linking Zinedine Zidane’s side linked with a move for the winger, but Hazard now seems to have committed to the Blues.
The 25-year-old is back to his peak and is currently enjoying some of the best form of his life, so it is a massive boost to the club to have him on board long term given his huge importance to Antonio Conte and his team.
However, another Spanish club could pose a major threat as report that Barcelona’s sporting director and chief scout were at the London Stadium on Monday night to monitor Cesar Azpilicueta, Marcos Alonso, and Nemanja Matic. Matic played only 20 minutes as a substitute but it’s claimed that the Catalans are still considering a move for all three of the trio.

Azpilicueta and Alonso could both have the opportunity to return home to Spain but it is clear that the club would be very reluctant to allow any of their key men to leave with all three part of their strongest starting eleven this season.
The club have received a boost in their pursuit of Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly though, as his agent Bruno Satin revealed that his future is unclear, with the quoting him as saying:
“The player is very relaxed, I saw him after the game [against Real Madrid]. At the moment, we don’t want to talk about his future but with a president like this who has a lot to say, it is difficult for us to affirm 100 per cent that he will be staying at Napoli next season.[But] he wants to finish the season on a high even if it will be almost impossible to surpass Juventus for the league title.”
The 25-year-old, believed to be a potential replacement for John Terry, has been impressive for the Italian side all season and for Senegal at the African Cup of Nations and could demand a big money move to Chelsea if the club decides to pursue the opportunity.
