Chelsea round-up: Eden Hazard wants Real Madrid move; £35million deal for Monaco’s Tiemoue Bakayoko; Diego Costa injury scare

Madrid-based newspaper  report that Eden Hazard has made it clear to the club that if an offer for his services is received from Real Madrid, he wants to hold talks and expects to leave. Reports indicate that an agreement was made between the club and the player last summer that he would be allowed to leave this summer if an offer was incoming.

That still means that Madrid would have to make a bid for his services, but it remains to be seen how much truth there is in this speculation. In reality, it would seem an odd agreement to have come to given that the Belgian was hugely underwhelming last season, but Zinedine Zidane and co. are thought to have been monitoring him for a long time.

Any money from his sale could already have been put to good use as  state that the Blues have agreed a £35 million deal which will see Monaco midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko move to Stamford Bridge on a five-year deal which will tie the 22-year-old for some of the best years of his career.

The holding midfielder is expected to earn his first cap for France on Tuesday night alongside N’Golo Kante in midfield to top a pivotal week in his development. Manchester United were also believed to be tracking the strong and powerful player, but it looks as though he will now head to west London.

Meanwhile,  claim that Chelsea have been informed by the Spanish Football Federation that Diego Costa has avoided serious injury after undergoing X-rays over an ankle injury picked up whilst on international duty days after scoring on his return to the national side with a goal against Israel on Friday.

The striker will remain with the Spain squad until after they have faced France in a friendly on Tuesday night and then travel back to London,  but Antonio Conte will be desperate not to lose his 18 goal talisman as they near the business end of the season.
