Chelsea ready to move for Premier League left-back after Ben Chilwell blow – report

Chelsea have reportedly set their sights on Everton left-back Lucas Digne in wake of Ben Chilwell’s injury.

On Tuesday, the Blues that the England international will undergo knee surgery.

Chilwell suffered anterior cruciate ligament damage during Chelsea’s Champions League win against Juventus in November.

However, Chelsea have now decided that the £50million signing from Leicester will go under the knife.

The Blues haven’t put a fixed timescale on Chilwell’s return, but claim he could miss the rest of the season.

Chilwell’s injury is a huge blow to Thomas Tuchel, who could now look to recruit a replacement in the January transfer window.

According to , Chelsea are now ready to make a move for Digne, whose future at Everton is in doubt.

The outlet claims the Toffees man is looking to leave Goodison Park after falling out with Rafa Benitez.
