Chelsea: Oscar deal update; Spaniard could follow; £10 million move prepared
Playmaker Oscar is moving increasingly closer to a move to China for a reported £52 million fee, with Andre Villas Boas set to be reunited with the Brazilian he worked with in London at Stamford Bridge. Oscar told Brazilian outlet :
“It just depends on a few bureaucratic details… It’s 90% done.”
The deal looks a positive one for the Blues given the huge transfer fee involved for a player who has played a bit part role in recent weeks.
Cesc Fabregas could be the next to follow him from Chelsea to China as reports emerge that the Spaniard will soon be subject to a £40 million bid from Guangzhou Evergrande, managed by former Blues boss Luis Felipe Scolari, who were also keen on Oscar, say the .
Speculation has long suggested that the former Barcelona man may move on sooner rather than later, with a January move or summer exit likely, but he has impressed when called upon by Antonio Conte with two assists and a goal in his last three appearances. Fabregas may also turn down the offer if he believes that he can still play at a higher level, which he can based on his recent displays.
With two midfielders said to be nearing an exit, Chelsea are preparing a £10 million move for Fiorentina midfielder Milan Badelj according to the Serie A club’s local newspaper in Florenca, . The Croatian is similar in style to Nemanja Matic in that he prefers a deeper playmaker role and could join forces with N’Golo Kante in midfield.
However, there is also interest in the 27-year-old from AC Milan and their city rivals Inter after he has scored once and set up two goals in 14 Serie A games to date this campaign, having moved to Italy from Wolfsburg just over two years ago.
