Chelsea now considering £87m striker in January as dramatic transfer plans emerge
Ahead of what is becoming an increasingly key transfer window for Maurcio Pochettino and Chelsea in January, new plans have now emerged.
Although they knew patience would be needed this season, Chelsea fans have become understandably frustrated by recent performances.

The club’s heavy spending hasn’t led to results on the pitch, nor a clear vision of plans to succeed in the future.
And although some have been amused by Pochettino’s plea for further reinforcements in January, it seems the club will try and support their manager.
That being said, have now shared a report detailing Chelsea’s interest in Viktor Gyokeres.
Since moving to Sporting Lisbon from Coventry City in the summer, the Sweden international has scored 15 goals in 18 matches – quickly leading to speculation over his next move.
And Gyokeres, who has a release clause, has been added to a wishlist that also includes Victor Osimhen and Ivan Toney.
But as fans will expect, any of these moves would come at a high cost.
And that explains why Chelsea do now seem willing to part ways with Conor Gallagher in January, a player who has often worn the armband under Pochettino.
Chelsea now want Viktor Gyokeres as Mauricio Pochettino targets January striker
Whilst a move for Gyokeres would seem well advised for Chelsea, who really lack quality up top, selling Gallagher would be a surprise.
Although often linked with an exit in the summer, the England international does now seem crucial to plans.

And whilst his place in the eleven isn’t nailed for the future, he seems like a great character to start a rebuild with.
In terms of Gyokeres, the Swede would give Chelsea a much needed focal point, someone Christopher Nkunku can work off of when fit.
And as he evidenced in England, Gyokeres does know how to score a goal.
Osimhen and Toney might be considered a cut above for Chelsea in January, but Pochettino will stress the haste of needing a striker as soon as possible.
And although he’s only just made the move to Portugal, a move for Gyokeres may be more realistic in the short-term.
That being said, Ian Wright believes there may already be somewhat of a solution in the current Chelsea squad.
