How Chelsea and Manchester City’s transfer failings may see Kylian Mbappe move to Madrid

For Chelsea and Manchester City fans, things may turn out alright considering the amount of money each club has spent this summer. However, the Premier League duo have still faced their own struggles in the transfer market.
Despite signing some stellar players, Spanish outfit Real Madrid look set to win the window, with a successful move for one of the window’s most sought after talents, Monaco’s Kylian Mbappe.
The 18-year-old sensation has been the one man everyone wants at their club and, while many don’t have the financial power to sign the youngster, his future may have been decided by the transfer failings of England’s top clubs.
Now, he looks likely to end up – if reports by Spanish outlet are to be believed – at the Santiago Bernabéu, with both City and Chelsea funding his move, as a result of their most recent purchases.
Collectively, Manchester City and Chelsea have spent more than £95 million on Real Madrid’s bench players, which will inevitably help fund the Los Blancos prospective move for Mbappe.
Chelsea, the current Premier League champions, had to turn their attention to signing Alvaro Morata, after being beaten to the signature of Romelu Lukaku by Manchester United.

Indeed, following these moves, have reported that Madrid and Monaco have agreed a world-record fee of €180 million, a figure that eclipses Paul Pogba’s world record move to Manchester United.
It remains to be seen as to whether the Spanish outlet are just speculating, but with the finance Real Madrid have available to them, thanks to Chelsea and Manchester City, Los Blancos could be set to smash the world record transfer fee this summer.
