Antonio Rudiger to return: 2 changes that can see Chelsea defeat Manchester City

Chelsea gave their top four chances an injection of life last week by thumping Huddersfield Town 5-0 in the Premier League.

The Blues had lost two on the spin prior to the big win over the Terriers and it was important for them to get back on track.

This weekend they face a completely different challenge when they go to leaders Manchester City.

Maurizio Sarri’s team were the first to defeat Pep’s City this season and that will give them confidence.

January signing Gonzalo Higuain netted twice against Huddersfield and he will look to prove he is a man for the big occasions at the Etihad on Sunday.

Ahead of such a huge Premier League game, TBR Football looks at two players who could come in for the Blues.

Antonio Rudiger

The German defender was on the bench for the Huddersfield game but could return on Sunday.

Andreas Christensen was the man tasked with playing at the back alongside David Luiz last time out, but he hasn’t played much this season.

Rudiger has been the trusted man for Sarri more often than not this season.

The 25-year-old has adapted well to English football and should get the challenge of keeping a prolific City at bay.

Pedro

So often the man for the big occasion.

The 31-year-old didn’t get on for the Blues last week so will be like a coiled spring ready to go against City.

Chelsea can send a message to their rivals for a top-four place with a positive result at City.

Pedro could be the man to bring home the points.
