Chelsea make their move for Arsenal target Ivan Toney

The player in question is Brentford’s Ivan Toney, one of the Premier League’s most exciting strikers.

Toney has been linked with Arsenal in recent weeks, with Tottenham are also believed to be keen on the England international.

There have also been reports claiming Toney is in the sights of Saudi Arabian giants Al-Alhi.

Now, Chelsea are reported to have stepped in for the reported Gunners target, with Sky Sports journalist Kaveh Solhekol providing an update.

“Chelsea have made a move to sign Ivan Toney from Brentford,” the Sky Sports News chief reporter said on air, as per the .

“The Blues want a proven goalscorer to be their new number nine.

“The 28-year-old will fit into their wage structure and the transfer fee will be reasonable.

“The England international has an incredible offer from Saudi but Chelsea can offer Premier League football.”

Arsenal will need to move quickly or risk losing Toney to Chelsea

Toney was expected to be one of the most in-demand players in the market this summer, but there hasn’t been much concrete speculation to date.

As a result, his price tag is said to have fallen, with a recent report claiming Brentford would be happy with around £40million.

Arsenal are said to be looking around for a new forward, but if they want Toney, they’ll need to move quickly, as Chelsea have made their move.

Toney is a “world-class” forward – – who has proven himself in the Premier League, so he’d certainly bolster any top-flight club’s ranks.
