Chelsea fans send clear message about Trevoh Chalobah after seeing his display in Brighton 1-3 Crystal Palace
Chelsea fans had a lot to be invested in during the Premier League clash between Brighton and Crystal Palace on Sunday.
There were several Chelsea academy graduates on the pitch such as Tariq Lamptey, Marc Guehi and Trevoh Chalobah – with the latter scoring to give Crystal Palace the lead in the 27th minute.
The Crystal Palace No.27 proceeded to deliver a fine overall performance to go with his goal, which sparked a conversation amongst Chelsea supporters online given the fact he is only on loan at Selhurst Park from Stamford Bridge, with the Eagles holding no option or obligation to buy him.
Chelsea fans want Trevoh Chalobah back at Stamford Bridge
Chelsea fans were clearly impressed by the 25-year-old’s performance at the Amex Stadium, with many calling on the Blues to bring the central defender back to west London.
Why did we loan him I hope he comes back next season

One Chelsea supporter questioned why Chalobah was loaned to Crystal Palace in the first place, writing on X (previously known as Twitter): “Why did we loan him? I hope he comes back next season.”
Unless Crystal Palace make Chelsea an irresistible offer, the man born in Sierra Leone will be coming back to Stamford Bridge at the end of the season, where Enzo Maresca will then decide what he wants to do.
Hopefully he comes back home

Another Chelsea supporter echoed the above sentiment, writing: “Hopefully he comes back home.”
Nice goal, he needs to come back. I think he would do well under Maresca
— Liberal Capital (@libcapllc)
Furthermore, a third Chelsea supporter opined that they think Chalobah would be a good option under the Italian, posting: “Nice goal, he needs to come back. I think he would do well under Maresca.”
The 44-year-old actually left the defender out of Chelsea’s pre-season tour of the United States last summer, so if he does plan to bring him back into the fold, it may require a slightly awkward conversation.
Chalobah also lost his shirt number while still at Chelsea, so bridges will have to be rebuilt.
And here we are stuck with the likes of disasi and badiashile. He miles better than them but thats a conversation for another day.

Additionally, a fourth Chelsea fan even made the bold claim that Chalobah is better than Benoit Badiashile and Axel Disasi – both of whom cost £32.7m and £38.5m respectively in moves from Monaco.
They wrote: “And here we are stuck with the likes of Disasi and Badiashile. He’s miles better than them but that’s a conversation for another day.”
I’m sure the Chelsea board can see that he’s needed and Disasi should be the one going on loan next season.

A fifth Chelsea fan built on the aforementioned point, stating that Disasi should be the one loaned out next season with Chalobah reintroduced.
They posted: “I’m sure the Chelsea board can see that he’s needed and Disasi should be the one going on loan next season.”
We should recall him in January
— Mudryk is 🐐 (@Mudrykisgoat10)
Last but not least, another Chelsea fan went one better and suggested the Blues should bring Chalobah back as soon as January, rather than wait until the summer.
Simply put, they wrote: “We should recall him in January.”
Trevoh Chalobah seems content at Crystal Palace
If Crystal Palace do make an acceptable bid for Chalobah – who Newcastle also looked at – in 2025, agreeing personal terms with him doesn’t seem like it will be an issue.

Upon arriving at Selhurst Park, he said: “Ever since I came here, I’ve felt welcome. It’s like a small group here, a small family and it’s been amazing… Crystal Palace are a very good team in the Premier League, and I’m really excited for this season.”
Interestingly, Chalobah also grew up in Lambeth, so he would be closer to home if he made a permanent switch to south London.
