Chelsea fans react as Leeds reportedly keen on out-of-favour Michy Batshuayi

Michy Batshuayi has endured another difficult season, on loan away from parent club Chelsea at Crystal Palace. He has somehow managed to earn a slot at Euro 2021, but he only managed two goals all season for Palace. Now, Leeds are reportedly interested, and Chelsea fans are desperate for his exit.

Batshuayi, 27, has clocked up just 77 appearances for Chelsea since joining the club in the summer of 2016. In that time, he has gone on loan on four separate occasions – moving to Valencia, Dortmund and Palace twice. His international form outweighs his club form, with 22 goals in 33 caps.

So, he returns to Chelsea with a year left on his contract. claim Leeds are interested – having been linked last summer. It might be of little surprise, given that a younger Batshuayi worked under Marcelo Bielsa at Marseille – scoring 11 goals in 29 games under the Argentine.

What are Chelsea fans saying about Batshuayi potentially off to Leeds?

Chelsea will be desperate to bring in some cash for Batshuayi given his contract is about to end. This summer represents the last opportunity the West London club have to reclaim some of the £33million they spent to sign him. Chelsea fans, therefore, are desperate for Leeds to sign Batshuayi.

One fan even took to Twitter to send a message to Chelsea’s CEO Marina Granovskaia: “I beg Marina doesn’t screw this up”. Others suggested swap deals for Patrick Bamford or Raphinha, something Leeds are unlikely to be interested in.
