Chelsea fans react as Leeds reportedly consider Michy Batshuayi bid
A number of Chelsea fans have taken to Twitter to comment on that Leeds United have been offered the chance to sign Michy Batshuayi this summer.
It would be little surprise to see Batshuayi move on during this window. HLN notes that he has one year left on his contract at Stamford Bridge.
Remarkably, he has made just five Premier League starts for the Blues. Nevertheless, Leeds are reportedly weighing up a big-money move for the Belgian.
, Chelsea have offered Batshuayi to Leeds. And the Whites are now deciding whether to invest £22.6 million in the 26-year-old.
The asking price arguably makes it difficult to see the Whites making a move. Meanwhile, HLN suggests that Batshuayi earns £108,000-a-week with Frank Lampard’s men, so wages may also prove a problem for the newly-promoted side.
Given how little Batshuayi has played in recent years, Leeds fans may be interested to see what Chelsea supporters make of the reports.
There are some on social media who have suggested that a move could work out well for all parties. Chelsea offload a fringe player, while Batshuayi can get his career back on track, and Leeds have added a goalscorer who has proven himself, and worked under Marcelo Bielsa, in the past.
‘Daylight robbery’
But many have been left stunned by the reported asking price. They have insisted that Chelsea will have played a blinder if they can convince Leeds to part with over £20 million.
He has less than a year left on his contract. And having barely played in recent times, several have suggested that they would be amazed if the Whites decided to spend so much.
