Chelsea fans rave about performance of Andreas Christensen at Euro 2020
Andreas Christensen stole the show last night as Denmark progressed to the last 16 of Euro 2020. The Chelsea man scored his team’s third goal during a 4-1 win and was named UEFA Star of the Match.
The centre-back showcased some extremely strong form. He completed all of the tackles he attempted and won seven out of eight aerial duels.
It was his goal that perhaps caught the eye though. His long range effort whistled into the Russia net to put the seal on a fantastic victory.
Christensen has endured a frustrating campaign. Injury limited him to just 27 outings in all competitions, although he did play 51 minutes in the Champions League Final.
The defender has had no such frustrations on the international stage. He’s now made 43 caps for Denmark, with last night’s goal his second.
Progressing to the knockout stages is a tremendous achievement. The Danish team had to watch on in horror after Christian Eriksen suffered a cardiac arrest in their first group match.
The players returned to the field and were beaten 1-0 by Finland. Defeat to Belgium in their second game left them in a perilous position in the group.
Their stunning win against Russia coupled with Finland losing to Belgium means they do go through in second place, however.

Following last night’s performance, Blues supporters have been reacting over on Twitter. The 25-year-old was a standout and Chelsea fans couldn’t hide their glee at his eye-catching display.
Christensen has just a year to run on his contract at . Since signing in 2017, he has made 127 appearances for the club.
