Chelsea fans rave about Aston Villa player that is ‘better than Ziyech’

Aston Villa came within an inch of knocking Chelsea out on Wednesday, losing on penalties – and Blues fans have raved about Bertrand Traore.

Dean Smith made a number of changes to his Villa side, handing striker Cameron Archer the chance to lead the line against Thomas Tuchel’s side.

Indeed, Archer was in the thick of the action from moment one. In the first half, he missed a couple of excellent chances – blazing the first over.

However, he made amends in the second half – cancelling out Timo Werner’s header with a brilliant effort of his own, as Matty Cash crossed.

Eventually, the game went to penalties. Villa suffered a defeat – Ashley Young hitting the bar, and Marvelous Nakamba having one saved.

Traore, 26, started on the right and lasting 64 minutes. Of course, he came through the ranks at Chelsea – where he played 16 times at senior level.

What are Chelsea fans saying about Villa winger Traore?

The 57-time Burkina Faso international was a threat from the right throughout the match, as he came up against England star Ben Chilwell.

Traore has now clocked up 42 appearances for Villa since his move from Lyon, having a hand in 15 goals. Scoring eight, laying on seven assists.

He was a thorn in Chelsea’s side – testing Kepa on numerous occasions. While he did not score, he gave Chelsea something to think about.

Chelsea fans took to Twitter to discuss Villa’s £17million () signing, and many believe he would be an improvement on Hakim Ziyech.
