Chelsea could try to beat Arsenal and sign ‘special’ PL player in January now – journalist
Chelsea could now battle with Arsenal over the signing of Youri Tielemans during the January transfer window.
That is what journalist Ben Jacobs has told the podcast as the days tick down until the winter market opens.
Arsenal have been linked with Tielemans dating back to the summer but they did not really push ahead with their interest.
Tielemans has still not signed a contract with Leicester, meaning he is set to be a free agent at the end of the season and could be available at a bargain price next month.

Chelsea could now beat Arsenal to sign Tielemans
Jacobs said: “If you’re going to sign [Declan] Rice in the summer, does that then shift the desire to find more of an attacking midfielder in January? The answer to that question might well be yes.
“A dark horse to keep an eye on is someone maybe like a Youri Tielemans, who Arsenal are considering on a free transfer if he doesn’t sign a new deal at Leicester in the summer of 2023.
“Potentially a suitor could put down a low value offer that they think is a bargain hoping that Leicester take it rather than lose the player on a free.
“Chelsea haven’t made any significant advances on this front, but that’s one to watch.”
“Youri is a special player,” Wes Morgan, who played with Tielemans during his time as captain of Leicester.
“The amount of work he does, off the field and in the gym and the hours he puts in is the reason why he is producing these magical moments.
“He is always the type of player to be doing extra shooting practice at the end of the game. If you keep working hard like that, then it pays off.
“Now you see the best of him. He wants to add goals to his game. Add assists to his game and he is producing that on a weekly basis.”
