Chelsea are ‘pushing’ to sell their ‘unbelievable’ player to Arsenal on deadline day

Chelsea are hoping that Arsenal will do them a favour on transfer deadline day.

The London rivals have both been active in this summer’s transfer window. The Blues, as they do, have signed a bunch of players and are looking for at least one more.

While doing so, Chelsea are also aiming to move a few of their players on before the window shuts.

French journalist Fabrice Hawkins has shared an update on one of them, and Arsenal could be in the mix for a big-name move late in the window.

Chelsea are pushing to sell Raheem Sterling to Arsenal

Raheem Sterling’s future has been one of the hottest topics of discussion in recent days.

The England international has been banished from Chelsea’s first-team squad, and both the player and the club are desperate for a transfer on deadline day.

Sterling has been linked with a number of clubs in the Premier League, and the inevitable link to Arsenal arrived on Thursday.

It was revealed that Sterling has been offered to Arsenal by his representatives and the player is apparently willing to drop his wages to seal what is said to be his ‘dream’ move.

Now, Hawkins has added more fuel to the rumour.

The journalist has revealed that Chelsea need to free up space and cash to sign Jadon Sancho from Manchester United.

To do that, they have to move Sterling on, and they are said to be ‘pushing’ to sell the Englishman to Arsenal before the window shuts.

Hawkins tweeted: “Jadon Sancho and Juventus try to reach an agreement on salary. Juventus management believes the deal is possible. The player spoke with Thiago Motta.

“On the other hand, Chelsea still pushing to sell Raheem Sterling to Arsenal so they can afford Jadon Sancho.”

Sterling to Arsenal makes sense on two conditions

At the start of the window, if you had asked an Arsenal fan if they would take Sterling, the answer would’ve most likely been a big no.

However, things could be different now.

Yes, there are still a few supporters who are completely against the idea of signing the Englishman, but a deal does make sense – if the economic side of things is right.

Sterling, branded as an ‘‘ player by Leroy Sane, can play anywhere across the frontline and has already worked with Arteta.

The two of them enjoyed hugely successful years at Manchester City, and if there’s anyone who can get the best out of him, it would be the Arsenal boss.

We think Arsenal should consider signing Sterling today – but only if he is available on a free transfer and will significantly reduce his wages.
