Charlie Patino and Myles Lewis-Skelly react after player confirms he has left Arsenal

Arsenal have done some good work with outgoings in this summer’s transfer window.

The Gunners’ one big sale this summer was Emile Smith Rowe to Fulham, but he isn’t the only one who has been moved on from Arsenal recently.

The likes of Mika Biereth, Reuell Walters and Amario Cozier-Duberry have all left the club, while Nuno Tavares and Albert Sambi Lokonga have been loaned out with the intention of selling them in 2025.

Now, another player has confirmed his exit from Arsenal – Brooke Norton-Cuffy.

Norton-Cuffy was viewed as a star in the making at Arsenal a few years ago.

The talented defender joined the Gunners’ academy when he was just 10 years old. He came through the ranks at Hale End and made a fantastic name for himself.

Norton-Cuffy had spells at Lincoln City, Rotherham, Coventry City and most recently at Milwall. He played over 100 games while on loan and earned some rave reviews.

Arsenal fans were hoping to see Norton-Cuffy get opportunities under Mikel Arteta, but after the Gunners boss didn’t call him up for pre-season, his future became clear.

On Wednesday, Norton-Cuffy took to Instagram to announce that he has left Arsenal to join Serie A side Genoa on a permanent deal.

Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Arsenal will receive an initial €2 million fee plus add-ons for Norton-Cuffy, which is not a bad deal considering they have a sell-on clause as well.

Reacting to Norton-Cuffy’s exit, a number of his former teammates at Arsenal showed him some love in the replies under his post.

Charlie Patino wrote “BNC” with a heart emoji, while Myles Lewis-Skelly replied: “Good luck bro!”

Here’s how a few others reacted to his departure.

Another big talent could leave Arsenal

It is a shame that Norton-Cuffy couldn’t make it at Arsenal – he is a fine talent.

However, Arsenal have reached a stage now where it’s not easy for young players to break into the first-team like Bukayo Saka and Smith Rowe did a few years ago.

That’s why several youngsters have left Arsenal this summer, and Norton-Cuffy won’t be the last one to depart in this window.

Patino could be sold by Arsenal too after he was left out of the club’s pre-season tour. He didn’t feature in the Emirates Cup games either.

That, again, is sad to see as every Gooner would’ve told you a few years ago that Patino is a superstar in the making.

Sadly, his future lies away from the Emirates.
