Charlie Nicholas says West Ham should drop Felipe Anderson despite Chelsea win

pundit Charlie Nicholas says Manuel Pellegrini should take Felipe Anderson out of his team despite him starting the at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.

£85,000-a-week () Anderson has struggled this season and Nicholas feels that he should be dropped. He also calls for Sebastien Haller to be benched, seemingly unaware that he was a substitute in west London on Saturday.

He : “What a result for West Ham at Chelsea. Manuel Pellegrini was on the brink of losing his job and his side pulled something out of the hat for him. They got their shape right, defended well and were a threat on the counter-attack. They do have a softness about them, though.

“Michail Antonio brings the power and strength but West Ham are too nice. Sebastien Haller has gone cold and Felipe Anderson has been poor. You have to take them out of the team, work with them on the basics, and build them up again.”

TBR’s View – Consistency will be the telling factor for Anderson

Anderson was not one of the standout performers against Chelsea, fading out of the game in the second half, but he showed a willingness to work hard, get into the shape and fight for a result which could have saved his manager’s job.

But doing that game in, game out will be the challenge. For Anderson and West Ham, getting that level of performance on a consistent basis will be the telling factor.
