Charlie Nicholas absolutely hammers three Tottenham players

Charlie Nicholas has absolutely hammered Tottenham Hotspur trio Serge Aurier, Christian Eriksen and Danny Rose when discussing his prediction for Spurs’ clash against Everton on Sunday at Goodison Park.

Spurs come into the game after a couple of intriguing games. They beat Red Star Belgrade 5-0 in the Champions League, and came within an inch of getting something against Liverpool at Anfield – largely thanks to the performance of Paulo Gazzaniga.

However, there are still question marks over a number of players. Christian Eriksen’s performances have been poor this season, as doubts remain over his future – following a summer full of rumours and the player himself stating he would like to leave.

Former PSG defender Aurier has made a number of mistakes this season – including a red card against Southampton and being torn to shreds by Serge Gnabry. Rose has been poor, too, and ex-Arsenal man Nicholas has blasted all three players.

“Christian Eriksen is a passenger at the moment, so he doesn’t belong in the team. There is too much confusion at Tottenham. The manager is not the problem but there is something within,”

“They have not signed players on longer-term contracts, like Toby Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen. Danny Rose is an accident waiting to happen, while Serge Aurier has been a disaster.”

TBR’s view – Sell or Keep; Rose, Eriksen and Aurier

Aurier has been woeful for Spurs. Even though there has been a handful of glimpses of quality from the Ivorian, it was the same story last Sunday as he recklessly conceded the penalty for Mo Salah to score the winner at Anfield.

Spurs need to get rid of Aurier, without question, and bring in a replacement. Meanwhile, Eriksen is leaving the club and if Spurs can bring in some cash for the Denmark international in January, they will have done well.

Of the three, Rose is likely to be the one that Spurs may look to keep. However, it must be considered that Rose almost left in the summer and has struggled this season.
