Charlie Allen reacts on Twitter after first Leeds appearance; fans respond
Charlie Allen’s first competitive appearance for Leeds United proved to be a real baptism of fire, but that has not stopped plenty of fans lauding the youngster after he posted on social media this week.
The Whites opened their EFL Trophy campaign with a 7-0 defeat away at Accrington Stanley on Tuesday night.

Of course, Leeds fans expected a young lineup to be named for the contest. But it certainly seemed to take some aback just how youthful the lineup proved to be.
Allen – the 16-year-old summer signing – was one of the more experienced players in the side. He made his senior debut for Linfield in 2019, and took the captain’s armband in his first competitive appearance for his new club.

Leeds’s performance received praise from Accrington boss John Coleman (via ). And plenty of fans have empathised with their youngsters following the defeat.
Allen took to social media to comment on making his bow for Leeds. He expressed his delight at captaining the side and featuring for the club for the first time.
And in response, plenty of supporters heaped praise upon Allen. Regardless of the result, they are incredibly excited about his future and the future of a number of the players also involved in the game.
