Charlie Adam reacts as Liverpool’s Andy Robertson misses out on TOTY
Charlie Adam has suggested on Twitter that it is incredible to see Liverpool defender Andrew Robertson missing from the FIFA FIFPro Team of the Year.
Robertson helped the Reds to the Champions League last season, and played a key role as Jurgen Klopp’s men came agonisingly close to winning the Premier League.

The 25-year-old contributed a staggering 11 assists in the top flight last term, while he provided another two in Europe. Defensively, he was outstanding as he dealt with some of the finest forwards the continent could put in front of him.
Somehow however, the Team of the Year included just two Liverpool stars. Alisson got the nod in goal, while Virgil van Dijk was picked in defence.

It was Marcelo who was picked at left-back. The Real Madrid star enjoyed a decent season. But it is difficult to see how the Brazilian enjoyed a better year than Robertson.
And former Reds midfielder Adam felt compelled to take to social media to express his dismay at Robertson’s absence from the lineup.
Here is Adam’s tweet on the surprise omission…
Incredible how is not in the team of the year

Of course, Robertson will have his eye on much more important accolades. Liverpool have made a brilliant start to this season. There is a long way to go, but they have given themselves a fantastic platform to clear the domestic hurdle that proved just a fraction too big to clear last season.
