Charlie Adam hails influential Liverpool winger Sadio Mane

Charlie Adam has hailed the quality of attacker Sadio Mane and believes that he could be the most important player in the Liverpool side.

The rapid left-winger was recently awarded the African Player of the Year for 2019 and he also finished fourth in the Ballon d’Or award.

Mane, 27, has taken his game to dizzy heights at Anfield under manager Jurgen Klopp and has been in sensational form this campaign.

The Senegal international has played 28 Liverpool games across all competitions this season, scoring 15 goals and supplying 11 assists in return.

He’s part of a devastating front trio that are a match for any team in the world and he continues to improve.

Ex-Reds midfielder Adam has raved about the super talent Mane and has picked him out as the talisman in Klopp’s team.

“He’s always available to play, he’s always scoring goals and good assists, he’s a key player for them {Liverpool]. I think he probably would be their main key player,”

“The way he sets the tone, standard, the pressing. He is the one that sets the marker for him. He’s just taken his game to a different level since being there.

“He is phenomenal. That left side he plays, his movement is incredible. He scares defenders. His work-rate, enthusiasm is second to none.”

TBR’s View:

Mane deserves the type of praise he’s been receiving recently and right now he has to be regarded alongside the world’s best player for his devastating form in the past couple of years.

Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah are obviously brilliant in the Liverpool frontline, but Mane is arguably the most consistent of the bunch and the real leader in the pack.

He is entering the peak years of his career aged 27 and is playing a mammoth role in the charge towards the Premier League title this season.
