Charlie Adam believes Kristoffer Ajer’s performances have dropped based on recent reports
Dundee FC captain Charlie Adam believes that recent reports linking Kristoffer Ajer to Norwich City show that the Celtic man’s stock has dipped in recent weeks heading into the summer transfer window.
, the former Stoke City midfielder claimed that Ajer’s recent form is the cause as to why the Norwegian international has been attracting interest from the Canaries as , with the Championship side set to play in the Premier League next season after claiming promotion earlier in the week.
Ajer has been linked with a move away from Celtic Park for some time, with before the January transfer window that AC Milan were interested in the 23-year-old defender, and Adam believes that these recent links show that the youngster has dropped in form in the past few months.
Adam said when asked about Ajer’s future: “He was linked with AC Milan in the January window, and now to be linked with Norwich, what does that say? The performances have not been to the level. AC Milan are a bigger club than Norwich.”

Although Ajer’s form has slipped in recent weeks, there’s no denying that the towering defender has what it takes to one day play for a top club in Europe, which will likely happen if he was to make the move to Norwich and continue to develop his game.
Ajer has been one of Celtic’s most consistent performers since breaking into the first-team after arriving from Norway, and the 23-year-old is seemingly on track to develop into a fine defender in a big division no matter where he ends up this summer, despite Adam’s claims.
