Charlie Adam and DaMarcus Beasley heap praise on one Rangers star after Porto draw
Alfredo Morelos was once again the star of the show for Rangers on Thursday night as he scored his 15th goal of the season to snatch a point against FC Porto – and he has drawn praise from Charlie Adam and DaMarcus Beasley.
Morelos, 23, has been in stunning form this season going into Thursday night’s encounter – having previously netted 14 times, laid on five assists, kept an in-form Jermain Defoe out of the side and stamped out last season’s disciplinary problems.
But against Porto, he and Rangers would surely suffer defeat at the Portuguese giants’ Estadio do Dragao. Indeed, Morelos’ Colombia teammate Luis Diaz opened the scoring for Porto – finding the top corner from all of 25 yards.
However, Morelos scored a stunning equaliser. The Colombian got the better of Portuguese veteran Pepe – in what was a fascinating tussle all match – to score after a good cross from Borna Barisic.
Adam asked how much Morelos would be worth after scoring against last season’s Champions League quarter-finalists, while former Rangers ace Beasley praised the striker and left-back Barisic for the cross – as well as Morelos.Charlie

TBR’s view – How much is Morelos really worth?
Last season, the factors against Morelos were his awful discipline – which saw him sent off five times – and the fact that he struggled to score in the big games. Yes, he is still yet to find the net against Celtic, but he is scoring in big games.
Porto is probably the best side Rangers have played in the Steven Gerrard era, and Morelos netted. Fans and pundits suggest that he is unproven in the big leagues, but Morelos is goalscoring machine in Europe – netting 17 in 31 Europa League games.
Moussa Dembele was sold to Lyon by Celtic after a disappointing final season with the Hoops for £19.7million. Morelos is worth at least that, if not more.
