Charles Watts suggests Arsenal could look at £50m winger to replace Raheem Sterling next summer
Arsenal are already seeing their squad stretched in the early stages of this season with injuries and suspensions mounting up.
Mikel Arteta‘s side were handed their first defeat on the weekend when they came up against Bournemouth down on the south coast.
And it was another game where Arsenal were reduced down to 10 men with William Saliba being shown a straight red card.
The Gunners will now be going into their game on the weekend against Liverpool without their star defender.
Another player who Arsenal will be sweating over the fitness off is Bukayo Saka with the winger sidelined on the weekend against the Cherries.

Arsenal could already be looking for Raheem Sterling’s replacement
One of arsenal’s deadline day signings was the Chelsea winger Raheem Sterling on a season-long loan deal.
With Saka out through injury, Sterling was able to make his second start in the league for the Gunners but he only remained on the pitch for 37 minutes.
Having arrived on loan, there was never any certainty about Sterling’s long-term future in north London but he has not exactly hit the ground running.

And Arsenal reporter Charles Watts has now claimed the Gunners could look to replace him with Jamie Gittens in the summer.
“That’s not to say that they won’t dip into the market. If the right opportunity arises then I’m sure they will go for it, but it’s still more likely they wait until the summer to spend big money,” he said in his .
“Gittens has caught the eye of late and we know Arsenal will be looking at options out wide. They have Raheem Sterling right now, but it’s tough to see that loan being made permanent come the end of the campaign.
“So there will be scope to bring someone in and if Gittens continues to perform at a high level then he might be the type of profile Arsenal will consider.”
Tottenham also showing interest in Jamie Gittens
The 20-year-old Englishman has made a bright start to the season with Borussia Dortmund where he has returned four goals and three assists across all competitions.
Gittens has caught the eye of Tottenham Hotspur with his early season form but it is believed he is being valued in the region of £50m.
And it is no surprise when Gittens is operating in the top 96th percentile for successful take-ons across Europe’s top five leagues.
Sterling is only able to rank inside the top 72nd percentile in the same metric which goes to show just how much of an upgrade the English talent could provide Arsenal.
However, there is still a long way to go until the summer transfer window with Dortmund expected to ask a considerable fee for their youngster.
