‘Channeling his inner Buffalo’, ‘bring him back’: Some Rangers fans wowed by on-loan attacker’s latest display

A number of Glasgow Rangers fans have taken to Twitter to praise Ibrox loanee Jordan Jones for his latest great performance.

The 26-year-old attacker joined the Gers in 2019 from Kilmarnock and has made 19 appearances in light blue, scoring one goal and registering two assists.

However, he struggled for game time this season, and his red card against Celtic and an incident last year didn’t do him any favours either.

Jones left Ibrox in the winter transfer window to link up on loan with English League One side Sunderland, where he has been doing really well.

On Tuesday, the Black Cats ran out 2-0 winners away at promotion rivals Portsmouth, with Jones grabbing one of his side’s goals.

After a tense opening period, Sunderland took the lead when Charlie Wyke was on hand to power home a header from Jones’ corner.

In the second half, Jones took advantage of poor defending to lob a great finish over the Pompey keeper from a tight angle, before celebrating in the style of Alfredo Morelos.

He’s already become a fan favourite at Sunderland and some Rangers fans are pleased to see doing him so well too:
