Celtic’s pursuit of a striker in the January transfer window has really ramped up over the past few days.
With the club being heavily linked to Sydney van Hooijdonk this week, the fans thought a new signing announcement was just around th🌳e corner.
However, after Fabrizio Romano’s overnight update, that speculation has now 🦂ended and it seems that Brendan Rodgers has now turned his attention to🔯 Republic of Ireland international, Adam Idah.
Reports are suggesting that Celtic are now in the race to sign the 22-year-old and journali༒st, Mark Hendry, has shared the Norwich City striker’s reaction🐽 when he heard the Parkhead club wanted him.
Posting on social media channel X, Hendry said, “Sydney van Hooijdonk has agreed with Norwich. Canaries were unwilling to sanction Adam Idah Celtic loan until they got their replacement secured.
“That’s now sorted so no more roadblocks.”
Idah has made 💜28 appearances for The Canaries in the English Championship this 🌊season and has scored six goals.
Capped at full international level for the Republic of Ireland, Idah has made 20 appearances for his country and hit the back of the net twice. Once against Gibraltar and, more famously, against the Netherlan🌄ds. []

However, what could concert the Celtic support is that he has surrounding his knee. I𒉰dah has been laid out for long spells ever since he injured his knee originally in February 2021.
Idah has missed 62 games and been🍒 on the treatment table for a total of 374 days due💃 to a recurrence of the injury. However, he hasn’t had any bother with that since December 2022.
The transfer rumours at Celtic seem to be rapidly gathering pace and it will be interesting to see how many bodies Brendan Rodgers will add to the squad before the deadline tomorrow 𒁃at midnight.
