Champions League winning manager has decided Manchester United are the club he wants to join

Thomas Tuchel has reportedly decided he’d rather join Manchester United over Chelsea this summer.

The German, who won the Champions League with Chelsea back in 2021, has been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford.

Erik ten Hag’s future at Manchester United remains uncertain after an underwhelming campaign and the arrival of Sir Jim Ratcliffe.

Bayern Munich are set to part ways with Thomas Tuchel this summer and the 50-year-old is said to be keen on replacing Ten Hag.

But with Mauricio Pochettino’s future at Chelsea also in doubt, a return to Stamford Bridge hasn’t been ruled out either

Now, Bild Sport journalist Christian Falk claims Tuchel’s ‘primary goal’ is to land the United job.

Tuchel wants to join United

Falk took to on Thursday afternoon and shared an update on Tuchel’s future.

While the German boss can see himself back in west London, a move to Old Trafford is his priority.

As a manager who has delivered the ultimate success at Chelsea, as well as league titles in France and Germany, Tuchel certainly has the pedigree to be considered as a possible United manager.

It’s no real surprise that the German would also prefer a move to Old Trafford over his former club.

While Tuchel remains very much a fan-favourite at Stamford Bridge, returning to your old club rarely works out.

Whether or not United are as keen on Tuchel as he is on a move to Manchester remains to be seen.

Ten Hag’s future remains up in the air but should they decide to head in a fresh direction after INEOS’ arrival, Tuchel will surely be considered.

Tuchel has struggled at Bayern though and looks set to miss out on the Bundesliga title to Xabi Alonso’s Bayer Leverkusen this season.

If United do decide to replace Ten Hag, it may benefit them to bring in a manager who’s on the up, rather than Tuchel who could be coming off the back of a disappointing season unless Bayern secure a surprise Champions League victory.
