Champions League finalists seriously considering move for ‘promising’ £40m Newcastle player

Champions League finalists are seriously considering a move for a ‘promising’ Newcastle United player this summer, according to a recent report.

The Magpies are one of the Premier League clubs under pressure to sell before the end of the financial year to comply with Financial Fair Play regulations.

They have until the end of June to raise the necessary funds and with that said, one attacker is attracting interest from a European powerhouse.

Borussia Dortmund seriously considering Yankuba Minteh

According to Sky journalist , Borussia Dortmund are seriously considering a move for Newcastle United winger Yankuba Minteh.

The 19-year-old spent last season on loan at Eredivisie side Feyenoord, netting 11 times whilst laying on six assists.

Newcastle only signed Minteh last summer, joining in a deal from OB Odense, but is already attracting interest from a number of high-profile suitors.

Liverpool have been linked with the Gambian in recent weeks and could provide Dortmund with stiff competition.

The Bundesliga club are expected to intensify their interest if they fail to resign Jadon Sancho on a loan deal.

Newcastle want £40m for Yankuba Minteh

The Magpies reportedly want to sanction the sale of Minteh this summer, which could deter a number of clubs from pursuing a deal.

Whilst he evidently has bags of ability and promise, such valuation seems well above his current level as he still remains unproven in a top-five league.

Perhaps Newcastle would be willing to lower their asking price as the month ticks on towards the end of the financial year.
